Paneer tikka is a popular Indian appetizer made with marinated paneer (Indian cottage cheese) and grilled or baked to perfection. It is a flavorful and delicious dish, typically served with mint chutney and onion rings. Here is a recipe for Paneer Tikka:

Prep Time: 20 minutes
Marination Time: 1 hour
Cook Time: 15-20 minutes
Ready Time: 1 hour 40 minutes (including marination and cooking time)

Ingredients:
  • 250 grams paneer, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup thick yogurt (hung curd)
  • 2 tablespoons gram flour (besan)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 medium-sized onion, cut into petals
  • 1 medium-sized bell pepper (capsicum), cut into cubes
  • Wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
Instructions:
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine yogurt, gram flour, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well to form a smooth marinade.
  2. Add the paneer cubes to the marinade and gently coat them with the mixture. Let the paneer marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator. This allows the flavors to penetrate the paneer.
  3. Preheat the grill or oven to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the marinated paneer cubes onto the soaked wooden skewers, alternating with onion petals and bell pepper cubes.
  5. Brush the grill or baking tray with oil to prevent sticking.
  6. Place the paneer skewers on the grill or baking tray and cook for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until the paneer is golden brown and slightly charred on all sides. If using an oven, bake at 200°C (400°F) for 15-20 minutes or until cooked through.
  7. Remove the paneer tikka skewers from the grill or oven and let them cool slightly.
  8. Serve the paneer tikka hot with mint chutney and onion rings.

Note: You can also add other vegetables like cherry tomatoes or mushrooms to the skewers for variation.

This recipe serves approximately 2-3 servings. Adjust the quantity of ingredients based on your requirements. Enjoy the flavorful and succulent Paneer Tikka!
