Chicken pakoda is a popular Indian snack made with bite-sized pieces of marinated chicken that are coated in a spiced gram flour batter and then deep-fried until crispy and golden brown. They are typically served hot and crispy, with a side of chutney or ketchup for dipping.

Ingredients:
  • 500g boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required
  • Oil for deep frying
Instructions:
  1. In a mixing bowl, add the chicken pieces, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, ginger paste, garlic paste, and salt. Mix well and let it marinate for 10-15 minutes.
  2. In another mixing bowl, add the gram flour, rice flour, and salt. Gradually add water and whisk to make a smooth batter of medium consistency.
  3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Dip the marinated chicken pieces into the batter, making sure each piece is coated well.
  5. Carefully drop the coated chicken pieces into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the chicken pakoda from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
