Mutton soup is a hearty and flavorful soup made with tender mutton pieces, vegetables, and aromatic spices. Here’s a recipe for mutton soup:

Cooking time: 60-70 minutes
Prep time: 15 minutes
Ready time: 75-85 minutes
Serves: 4-6 servings

Ingredients:
  • 1 lb mutton, cut into small pieces
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 carrot, peeled and chopped
  • 1 potato, peeled and chopped
  • 1 celery stalk, chopped
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
  1. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the onion, garlic, and ginger paste and sauté until the onion is translucent.
  2. Add the mutton pieces to the pot and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the cumin, coriander, and turmeric powder to the pot and stir to combine.
  4. Pour in the water and add the bay leaf, salt, and pepper. Bring the soup to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 45-50 minutes, or until the mutton is tender.
  5. Add the chopped carrot, potato, and celery to the pot and continue to simmer the soup for another 15-20 minutes, or until the vegetables are soft.
  6. Remove the bay leaf from the soup and garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
